Having trouble logging in to the discussion forum?

I receive a lot of emails from people having trouble logging into the discussion forum after registering and receiving the email containing their password. These emails and passwords are generated automatically. 99.9% of these problems can be solved using the points below.

  1. Passwords are case sensitive. So a “B” is not the same as a “b”. Please enter your password exactly as it appears in the email sent to you. An easy way to enter your password is to “copy and paste” it from the email.
  1. Read your password carefully! A number of digits can appear the same. For example a “1” (one) looks identical to “l” (lowercase “L”), and “0” (zero) can be mistaken for “o” (lowercase “O”). Again, if you “copy and paste” your password from the email you can avoid this problem.
  1. The username and password you receive for the discussion forum will not let you into the chatroom! These are two completely separate areas of the site. The chatroom requires it’s own username and password combination, which you cannot set up yourself. If you require a username and password for the chatroom please email me at info@ahouseinspain.net stating the username and password you would like and I’ll be happy to set it up for you.
  1. Once you have logged in to the forum for the first time you can change your password to something more memorable.

If, after trying the above, you are still having problems then email me stating the username and password you are attempting to use and I’ll check it out for you.

Please note: As from 24th February 2003 emails from “hotmail.com” and “yahoo.com” addresses will be filtered out and deleted before they reach me. This is due to the ever-increasing amount of junk, pornographic and offensive emails I receive via these free, web-based email accounts. If you send an email from either of these types of account I will not receive it and therefore you will not receive a reply. You will need to send emails from an account provided by an ISP, e.g. “aol.com”, “plus.net”, “btopenworld.com”, etc. I apologise for any inconvenience caused but find this a necessary step to take.
